Updated: Feb 12, 2022

Doing a family shoot is exciting, but i know there is a little prep beforehand ...

When getting ready for your shoot, here are 5 tips to make it a little smoother and more enjoyable:

1.

Set Expectations

Before the shoot, talk about it as family time together

"We are going to see Emma who is going to take family photos of us. It's going to be so much fun and then afterwards, we are going to have a special treat - today is a special day!"

2.

pack and prep

Before the shoot, have these things on hand or packed:

  • have outfits ready (at least) the day before

  • pack simple no-mess snack (eg sultanas, small crackers )

  • for little kids, pack a spare change of clothes

  • wear a cardigan or jacket over outfits to keep them clean

3.

Focus on connection

(not the camera)

Some of your favorite moments will probably happen when you are not expecting it.

Leave the camera work to me and focus on the laughter, snuggles and fun.

4.

Let kids be themselves

Don't worry if kids aren't at their best - no performance required here.

I love to adjust the tone of your shoot to help them be themselves, and capture their unique personality .

5.

Let me be the clown

Yes, I whole heartily apologize in advance for my singing, silly mum-jokes and crazy faces. I'm happy to look silly behind the camera, so you can look good in front of it .

Remember that I'm here to help your shoot is as enjoyable as possible . If you have any concerns or need a little extra help, we can talk more in your consult or discovery call .
